Twitter pages show ‘zero follower’

On Monday, Twitter shocked many users when the number of people following them on the microblogging site suddenly dropped to zero. The glitch, believed to have been started by a Turkish Hacker, also got the celebrities talking, who were left baffled by the seeming drop in popularity. “A big hello to zero followers,” said actor Riteish Deshmukh, when he opened his
Twitter page.

According to actor Salman Khan, the “0 thingy shattered egos”. “I’m glad with 0 followers! N hope all from my industry are okay as well,” he said. Others, however, were far less amused. “U guys all there? For sum reason my twitter a/c shows zero followers suddenly. U think I’ve been hacked?” posted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

Actress Sameera Reddy says the glitch caused panic among celebs. “Initially I though mine was the only one that got busted. There was panic and thoughts about Twitter crashing down. We all thought we would lose each other… I now realise how addicted we are to Twitter.” Says anchor Mandira Bedi, “My first reaction was ‘Oh No. Has it all gone too?’ My fans and
followers floored me with SMSs, which read, ‘We are all equal today. U 0 — I 0’!”

“Last nite’s Twitter hacker experience turned evry1 frm hero 2 zero in a second…literally,” posted singer Sophie Choudry. Actress Sonakshi Sinha posted a link to what had caused the problem.
